When is the next menstrual cycle after abortion?

Girls bleed as part of their monthly cycle.

Every woman varies a bit – but most women don’t have another period until about six weeks after their abortion. Immediately after your abortion you will be bleeding. That bleeding stops in seven to fourteen days. Once it has stopped, you will go without a period for about four weeks.

Most women ovulate before their first period after an abortion. You will most likely be fertile about four weeks after your abortion. There is a higher risk of pregnancy the first few cycles after an abortion so it is important to use protection if you don’t want another pregnancy.
